A proven track record leading social impact organizations.

Abigail Karlin-Resnick brings an extensive background in non-profit management and fundraising and a passion for supporting children and young adults. Over the last 23 years, Abi’s career has spanned community-based youth services, state advocacy and policy-making for health and education, informal science education, and state leadership in sexual health education in London, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Abi’s social impact career has touched every part of organizational operations – direct service, fundraising, financial management, communications, strategy development, and program evaluation. 

 

Most recently, Abi served for nine years as the Executive Director of Health Connected, a leading organization in California delivering sexual health education in public and independent schools. During her tenure, she grew Health Connected’s budget from $400K in 2013 to $1.8M in 2022, including a 600% increase in earned revenue, through a combination of program expansion and pricing strategies, and 550% increase in philanthropic revenue from individuals. Previously, she held fundraising and business development leadership roles at CuriOdyssey, a children’s science museum and zoo in the San Francisco Bay Area, and served as the Associate Director for the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy, a state leader in advocacy for adolescent sexual health and support services. 

 

Abi holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a specialization in education from UCLA, an MBA in public and nonprofit management from Boston University, and an MS in Education Improvement and Transformation from Drexel University with concentrations in Evaluation & Assessment, Education Policy, Global & International Education, and Education Administration. She has completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship and Harvard Business School’s Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management program. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in education through Drexel University with a concentration in Education Policy. She has presented regionally and nationally and on nonprofit fundraising and marketing as well as on community-based sexual health education and parent engagement in adolescent sexual health.
